Weekend is over and I have to work soon. Since I have the youth club tonight, I don't have to be there until early afternoon which suits me just fine.
We didn't do much Friday, just hung around here and relaxed. Watched tv, made dinner and had a good time with Anders. We had a good time doing absolutely nothing! Saturday, I went out for lunch with the old Jelling Festival crowd - Lena, Erik and Lars. We discussed the possibilities of having our booth Pitstop this year and decided against it. We all love working there, even though it's hard work with no pay but due to other circumstances, we are not pushing at it this year. Which is a wierd feeling since I have been there for the past 6-7 years and this year - nothing. There will be a different booth out there so I'm just glad that something is being done.

BUT, we did decide to meet up at a later date and discuss the possibilities of working there next year but I'll admit I'm a little pessimistic towards the idea. I honestly think that Pitstop, no matter how much good we did, is dead. I guess we'll see what happens. Either way, it was great seeing them again and we shared lots and lots of laughs over lunch. Afterwards, I went over to Lena and Laine's new home - way out in the boonies. It was gorgeous and I'm jealous in many ways. A perfect house for them in a perfect area for them. I wouldn't be able to live there because it was seriously out in the sticks and since I rely on busses for work, that just wouldn't be a possibility for me. But what a cute house, no neighbours, woods and fields in the surrounding areas, a fire place... ok, barely any tv or internet connection and that would really suck for me. But totally perfect for Lena and Laine.
After Lena, Laine and I ate dinner (Mmmm, Thai food) we drove to Kolding to see Koldinghus burn down - again. Koldinghus is an old royal castle in the town of Kolding, founded way back in the 11th century. During times of war, it was used as a fortress and then afterwards, just another residence housing for the royal family. BUT - 200 years ago, during the Napeleonic Wars, there was a huge fire and most of it was damaged. It's been restored and is now a museum and a popular landmark.

So, to "celebrate" the fire, on the exact 200th day mark, they did it again. Only this time there was no real fire, just lots of lights, smoke and sound effects. The first picture is of the "fire" and it's NOT my picture. (Mine didn't turn out that well so this one I found on the Net and is taken by Maria Tuxen Hedegaard - I don't want to get into any trouble with copyright issues!) It was pretty cool - they used lots of smoke, lots of red/orange lighting and had speakers hidden in the trees with sound effects like smashing glass and fire crackling.
This is my picture after the "fire".

Yeah, ok, Danes are wierd. We celebrate large, devastating fires by putting on a show. But it was a good way of learning the history! BTW, I didn't really know the history so thank you for Internet!

Sunday was nice and quiet. Did artsy/crafty stuff. Went for a walk with Tine. Kenneth came over to watch a movie with Anders. Computer stuff and skype with the parental units.

Good times!

Actually, I cut my hair a couple of weeks ago but it just took me a while to actually get a picture and post it. Shitty picture, slightly out of focus, crooked glasses and I guess I forgot to brush my hair. But still, here I am.

A girl at my youthclub told me that I look like a bookworm geek when I have my glasses on and my hair down. Funny, eh?

So, Easter break is now over. Back to work tomorrow and then life will be "normal" again. Luckily, I have two short shifts in a row so it'll be an easy week. Then - it'll be hell. Extra shifts, a slumber party for the "girl club" at work and youth parties to watch over.

It's been snowing the last couple of days but Anders and I did go for our walk. There is a park not far from where we live where there are lots of deer. It's a really large area and people are allowed to walk around and feed the deer. So, Anders and I fed the deer some yummy carrots out in the snow.

This one was not shy at all and came right away once he saw my bag of carrots. He had no problems with people and was really piggy.

The ducks out for a walk. They were fat and were begging for more food. See all the deer in the background?

A very typical Anders/Rie picture except I told him not to make any funny faces - just look into the camera! It was snowing quite a bit.

I've been crafty and seem to have found my motivation and inspiration again. One idea at a time! I started up another blog, just to post my stuff - take a look at www.craftyhideout.blogspot.com if you are interested!

It's Sunday, early afternoon. It's probably cold outside. Snow. Melting snow. Still, that's not going to hold me back from going on a walk with Anders out to the park where the deer are. We bought some carrots yesterday and I will bring my camera with me just in case the perfect picture comes along.

This mini vacation has been alright. Wednesday, I met up with Lise and Didde - I haven't seen them in a while now so we had lots of catching up to do during lunch. Thursday was Anders' family day and we ate Easter lunch at his parent's place and then played pictionary. We kicked everyone else's ass.

Thursday night turned into an interesting night. Interesting in a good or bad way you may ask.... since it's not my story to tell and I was pretty much only an innocent bystander, I will not go into details. I went over to Tine's place in the evening so we could bitch about a certain someone in Tine's life and we ended up going downtown for a couple of drinks. Nothing all too festive - just hanging out at the local pub with Adrianna (she was working) and having a good time. Well... the certain someone decided to make a drunken appearance. To be honest, Tine took it very nicely. I would have been having a total shitfit but she was able to hold back and "behaved" herself. Anyways, since this isn't my story to tell, let's just say that she had a good talk with this man and I ended up walking home alone...

Men are so confusing sometimes. Especially Mr. X. One day at a time, right??

Ok, I'm sure anyone who read this is now seriously confused (except Tine and perhaps Adri) so I'll just change the topic.... Friday, since the drinking was kept at a low the night before (at least for me!), I was able to get my ass in gear and clean up around here. Now the livingroom, hallway, bathroom and kitchen are presentable and we can always close our doors to the bedroom and office.... we haven't been able to do laundry in a while so we have dirty clothes making a statement in our bedroom - no wonder we sleep so good, we must be drugged with the stench of Anders' smelly socks.... (lol, I'm very funny today!)

Yesterday, I was super lazy. Played around on the computer, vegged out on the couch, made a yummy, healthy dinner and basically had a very lazy day. We did get out of the house to do grocery shopping but that was an in-buy-get-the-hell-out-of-the-store trip. Anders is no fun shopping with. And he knows that.

So, here I am. I'm going to move the exercise bike back into the living room so we'll get more room in our little office. Since we rarely have guests, it shouldn't be that bad having a giant metal monster in the living room - hell, we might even start using it again! I guess that since we'll be taking a summer vacation to a sunny, sandy and very warm country, I should start thinking about trying to find some sort of bikini body.... and the exercise bike is a good start, eh?

Enough of me just babbling on. I'm in that zone right now but I will hold back and let you get back to the exciting Sunday you might be having.

Happy Easter!

I get some time off work this Easter! Yay me! We are open extra hours Monday and Tuesday but then I'm off from Wednesday to Monday - a 6 day mini vacation! All I have planned so far is lunch on Thursday at Anders' parent's place, other than that, pure relaxation and just doing whatever my heart desires!

Things are good here. Work is good. Life is good.

We got some money back in taxes this year so we are now planning a little trip somewhere in Europe for sometime in late June. We're thinking Bulgaria. Sun, sandy beaches, poolside cocktails, holding hands, walking around in a different country taking loads and loads of fun pictures.... Right now DK has shitty weather. Windy, rainy and just very blah. I'm tired of blah. I need some sun and being able to be outside without freezing my ass off.

Last shift at Nørup youth club yesterday evening. Tine came with me so Karin and I fed her cookies and coffee while hanging out with "our kids". We are now closed until October which is always a bitter-sweet feeling. I love my job there but now I'll have an extra night for Rie stuff. But then again, I love what I do so I took on some extra shifts up at JB since one of my co-workers will be on leave and we need to fill the gap. I can't help myself, I just really love what I do.

Panduro Hobby is having a huge sale so I stocked up on artsy/crafty stuff. Spent too much money but I was in heaven. Don't know why I'm telling you guys that. I think I'm just eager to have some peace and quiet to work on some projects I've been thinking about for weeks now.

Ok, I'm babbling. That's my sign to end this post and get ready for work. Long shift today, won't be home until late. Only two more days until weekend. Then only two more days after that, then Easter vacation!
